Our Story
Ever thought about why there are Talent scouts that go looking for sports Talents but there is no tool to discover other Talents? Sure, you have talent scouting in entertainment: America’s Got Talent, The Voice, and so on. But, it is not popular outside of entertainment and sports.
As Math majors, our first question was, “Why doesn’t anybody go scouting for Math Talent?” Doesn’t everyone know Math is the foundation for everything…that may be slightly exaggerated, but it is true that STEM students have a lot to contribute to the world. In fact, every kid does.
We believe all kids have a Talent, perhaps in different measures, but they all do. Each of us has something that we naturally gravitate towards, and are good at. In addition, there are extraordinary Talents, people who are naturally gifted with a certain ability that makes them stand out. Research shows that that the most potent combination is being talented in something and working hard at it, meaning to pursue it. This is better than the 3 other possibilities stemming from the combinations of having Talent and working hard.
The idea originally came from wanting a Talent discovery tool for Math, but has grown into 27 different Talent categories. Our mission is to level the playing field for every individual so everyone has the opportunity to discover, enjoy, and pursue their Talent regardless of their race, gender, socioeconomic background and/or geography.
Today, there is no existing system to discover Talent. Fuel and precious stones have mining companies devoted to discover them, but the most precious resource on the planet, “Human Resource”, is not searched for with the same level of detail. This leads to Talent to being the most wasted resource on the planet.
We want to answer the following questions:
- Why do we start training children without stopping to identify what their Talent is?
- Why do so many business use the phrase, “lack of Talent in the marketplace”?
- Why do people struggle to find meaning and fulfilment in their lives?
At ProMytheUs, we are determined to help individuals answer these questions by focusing on their Talents – not what they suck at, but what they excel at, what makes them unique, what they gravitate towards, and what gives them a sense of self-worth.
We started with a big idea: What if we could mathematically break down Talent into components? From there, we went on to bootstrap our way through the help of friends and family. Abhigyan Jha, a media veteran who has discovered and mentored Talents for 25 years, was the one who believed in the idea enough to see it would have impact beyond entertainment.
Then came onboard our extremely Talented CTO, Alec Brouk, who not only believed in the idea but drew a pipeline in our very first meeting (which was scheduled to be an hour-long but ended up going on for 8 hours! Sorry Alec) that showed us how we could materialize our big idea. Thank you for your insight and perspective Alec.
That’s our story. If a part, or all of it, resonates with you, make sure you help us make it a bestseller! We hope you will join us on this journey by contacting us and exploring ProMytheUs further.

Mathematics and Biology – Double Major at College of Wooster, Ohio, US – Vedica was the first woman to double major in Biology and Math at her college. She is a dreamer who is passionate about science, technology and contrastingly, poetry and writing. She was a data analyst for the STEM Advisory board at The College of Wooster, where she worked as a Math tutor and STEM mentor for underclassmen. She is currently pursuing her MAcc at CWRU (OH) and serves as an analyst for a SaaS startup called Azoti. Vedica was also part of the selective Social Entrepreneurship class of 12 students who worked on formulating a business plan for Harvest Share, a startup that combats food insecurity by connecting local farmers to food pantries. The plan was implemented by “A Whole Community”, an NGO in Wayne County, Ohio. She brings creativity, mathematical logic, and scrupulous grammar to ProMytheUs.
Mathematics and Business Economics – Double Major at College of Wooster, Ohio, US – Besides attending The London School of Economics (2016-17) to study developmental economics and applied statistics, Gio served as a Simulation Analyst for Gigawatt Global in Israel (2017), a company helping to provide the first electricity to East African countries through alternative energy. With a short stint at Oxford (2017), for behavioral economics, and entrepreneurship, he brings mathematical modelling talent to ProMytheUs with an effective altruist side.
